Reflect Respect Celebrate Community Breakfast and Smoking Ceremony

Australia Day 2026 in Perth will start with a BBQ Breakfast and traditional cultural Smoking Ceremony at Victoria Gardens in East Perth. Led by a respected Whadjuk Noongar Elder, the Smoking Ceremony will promote healing and cleansing as a mark of respect to the land, and elders past, present and future.
For a small donation to charity, enjoy a BBQ breakfast served by the Rotary Club of Heirisson. There will be giveaways and entertainment throughout the morning.
City of Perth Australia Day Family Zone and Light Show

In the afternoon of Australia Day 2026, head to Langley Park for family-friendly entertainment that will encourage you to reflect, respect and celebrate. An assortment of free and low-cost attractions will run for the afternoon including freestyle motocross and BMX stunt show, carnival rides and amusements, a Sky Dive display, St John First Aid Awareness and the iNSTRUCKTA! Safety Truck.
The evening culminates with a drone and fireworks spectacular. Showcasing a combination of fireworks and drone formations, the sky above the Swan River will explode with colour and dazzling lights for a spectacular 30-minute show!
The Reflect Respect Celebrate Film Dome will be back by popular demand for 2026, screening educational and informative films that show how ‘We're All Part of the Story’.
The film dome will feature the films, Koora, Koora: A Long Long Time Ago, plus The Story of Us and Australian Values. The films will be showing on rotation with giveaways and other entertainment throughout the afternoon.
There will be food trucks offering cuisine from around the world, honouring our rich Australian heritage and diverse multicultural community.
New for 2026 is the Multicultural Activation Zone, which will host a range of activities including cultural performances, activity-based experiences and community stalls.
