
Manny is a respected tourism strategist and business leader with over 40 years’ experience in Australia’s tourism and events industry.
He is the Deputy Chair of Tourism Western Australia and Executive Director of Icon Tourism Consulting, a firm specialising in strategic tourism management, destination marketing and regional development. Over his career, he has advised governments, regional tourism organisations, and private operators across Australia on tourism growth, investment and innovation.
A long-time advocate for the tourism industry, Manny has served as President of the Tourism Council WA, Deputy Chair of the Perth Convention Bureau, President of the Australian Tourism Export Council (WA), and Chair of Australia’s Coral Coast tourism region. His leadership has helped shape Western Australia’s tourism strategy, strengthen partnerships with the private sector, and support sustainable regional development.
Manny was among the pioneers of Western Australia’s modern tourism industry, contributing to the development and promotion of many of the State’s leading tourism attractions. He led his family’s award-winning touring company for 20 years, showcasing Western Australia to both domestic and international visitors.
Beyond tourism, Manny has been a keen musician for most of his life and previously served as a Director of the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra, where he chaired the Marketing Sub-Committee and contributed to the organisation’s evolution into an independent, stand-alone orchestra.
Passionate about mentoring the next generation of business leaders, Manny continues to support small to medium tourism enterprises through his coaching and advisory work, helping them innovate, adopt new technologies such as artificial intelligence, and build resilient businesses.
Manny brings to the NADC Board a deep understanding of Australia’s visitor economy, community engagement, and the role of storytelling in shaping national identity
