For Australia Day Eve, we will hold an accessible and inclusive smoking ceremony on the main event site, reflecting the theme "Reflect, Respect, Celebrate." The ceremony will welcome people of all abilities, with clear pathways and seating areas ensuring ease of access. A Local Indigenous Elder will lead the traditional smoking ceremony, sharing the cultural significance of the ritual as we cleanse and prepare the space. The ceremony invites all attendees to reflect on the history of the land, show respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and celebrate the diversity that defines our Mandurah community today.
