During her remarkable career as a primary, secondary and university teacher, Carol Fuller rose through the ranks to become vice principal at Launceston College and assistant superintendent of the Northern Education Region. After retirement, Carol expanded her voluntary work to tutor children, mentor university students and share stories with pre-schoolers. In her work with the Children’s Book Council of Australia, Carol has judged the Book of the Year and co-authored resources to spark a love of reading. A passionate advocate of local history, Carol is a member of the Launceston Historical Society, and spent five years as its treasurer. A long serving member of the Zonta Club of Launceston, Carol raises funds for everything from the Launceston Women’s Shelter to the Flutter program, a confidence building program for girls. A driving force behind the Launceston White Ribbon committee, Carol harnessed the support of local business leaders in the fight against domestic violence. Dependable, generous and inclusive, Carol has made an enduring contribution to her community.
