Visions of Australia
Queensland primary schools have been busy reflecting on what’s great about our wonderful country. In the lead up to the 2010 Australia Day celebrations, more than 2800 entries from 104 primary schools were received in the Visions of Australia flag project. Each one reflected each student’s own personal vision of Australia.
Primary school students were asked to choose their favourite line from the national anthem, Advance Australia Fair, and interpret this into a drawing on the back of specially prepared Visions of Australia flags.
Finished designs were incorporated into bunting, which was distributed across the state for display at Australia Day events.
One winning entry was selected from each of the lower, middle and upper primary school categories.
