The Premier's Award for Outstanding Community Achievement in South Australia
The Premier's Award for Outstanding Community Achievement in South Australia is run by the Australia Day Council of South Australia on behalf of the Office of the Premier. The Award is presented at the Australia Day Awards Ceremony held on Australia Day Eve in the grounds of Government House.

The 2011 recipient of the Award is Allen Phillips. Here is his story:
Allen Phillips has made an incredible contribution to the community. Over the last 50 years he has been an operational member of the SA Sea Rescue Squadron – he was involved in countless rescue operations as a 24/7 call out volunteer. He was named as a Life Member in 1979. He also has been an active member of the Rotary Club of Henley Beach since 1972 including a stint as the president. He was also awarded a bravery medal in 1965 for assistance 16 year old Geoffrey Corner who was fatally attached by a shark. Allen has made a significant contribution to the Henley Beach areas and costal communities for half a century.
