The event kicks off with the country's largest Australia Day Parade - more than 3500 people walked through the streets of Adelaide in 2012 and we expect a similar number again. The Parade participants a huge number of cultural and community groups. plus floats, roving performers, 100 vintage vehicles, 30 horses, 15 marching bands, a giant echidna and a fly-past by an F-18 Hornet!
After making its way through city streets, the procession will converge on Elder Park at 7pm for the twilight Australia Day Concert.
Past concerts have included Aussie stars Ricki-Lee, Stan Walker, Jessica Mauboy, Kisschasy, Vanessa Amorosi and Carl Risely. Stay tuned for our announcements of our acts for 2013!
Australia Day in the City is presented by the Australia Day Council of South Australia, with support from Adelaide City Council.
