Mumbo Jumbo is a fabulously fun and energetic youth marimba group from Maleny. Ranging in ages from 10 to 12 years, Mumbo Jumbo beat out worldly toe tapping rhythms and melodies from around the globe.

People got into the Aussie spirit and joined in some traditional bush dances with the Ran Tan Bush Band.

People took a trip down memory lane and learnt historic crafts from an Aussie bushman. Highlights were the broom making, flint fire and foot powered pole lathe demonstrations. His dog and chooks were even there to lend a helping hand.

Glenelg Street Lawn was the place to be to sit back, relax and chill out on a beanbag under the shade of a tree.

To celebrate the revival of Australia’s iconic confectionary maker, Darrell Lea, sampled some green and gold liquorice. Made in Australia especially for the occasion, the liquorice featured refreshing pineapple and green apple flavours and was the perfect way for Australians to show their true colours.

Face painting and body tattoos
Chilren showed their true Aussie pride and had their faces painted bodies temporarily tattooed.

Children and adults jumped in and had a go at giant games of Jenga, Connect 4, chess, checkers, dominos and playing cards.

Children learnt about some famous Australian animals at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary display.

Making Food Fun Workshops run every hour from 10.30 am.
Children created a fun and healthy fruit salad with a delicious Anzac crumble at the Making Food Fun workshop. All ingredients were sourced locally and were green and gold to help celebrate Australia Day.
