 Tam Johnston

For the past five years, Tam Johnston has enjoyed the privilege of encouraging Australians to celebrate and reflect on Australia Day. Tam joined the organisation as National Manager, Australia Day Communications and Marketing in 2004, before taking on Directorship of the Australian of the Year Awards in 2006. These days, Tam oversees both programs, supported by two fantastic teams.Prior to joining the National Australia Day Council, Tam worked in Public Affairs for the Australian Government and as a Public Relations consultant in private industry. According to Tam, the best thing about working at the National Australia Day Council is the privilege of meeting the extraordinary Australians who are finalists for the Australian of the Year Awards, and the opportunity to experience the wonderful diversity of Australia first-hand.
