The annual Australia Day Lunch was celebrated on Wednesday 25 January at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre and brought the business, government and not-for-profit sectors together to celebrate our achievements as a nation.

Guests of the annual event were presented with the best of Queensland produce and wine, and were entertained by tap sensation Raw Metal, one of Australia’s finest vocalists Paulini and local Brisbane talent the David Spicer Trio with Bec Laughton.

Other highlights included an enthralling keynote address by former Wallaby and bestselling author Peter FitzSimons, and the announcement of the 2012 Australia Post Australian Legends.

In 2012, this program recognized eight of Australia's greatest football heroes across the four football:

• Aussie Rules – Ron Barassi and Gary Ablett Junior
• Soccer – Joe Marston and Mark Schwarzer
• Rugby League – Johnny Raper and Billy Slater
• Rugby Union – David Campese and David Pocock.

Australia Post also released a special stamp collection at the lunch in honour of each of these legendary Australian footballers.

The lunch concluded with a lucky door prize draw including many exciting prizes – a signed selection of books from Peter FitzSimons, a 12 month membership with Babes in Business, a 2012 season package from the Queensland Theatre Company, a signed jersey and football from the Gold Coast Titans, a 12-seat corporate suite to attend a Brisbane Lions home game, a Brisbane Roar Ultimate Football Experience package and a case of each of Clovely Estate’s 12 best selling wines.
