Australia Celebrates Live 2014
Australia Celebrates Live is back and better than ever in 2014 with a huge line-up of great Australian acts. Pack your picnic rug, hat and Aussie colours, and head to Parliament House early to reserve your spot this Saturday, 25 January.
With the concert falling on a Saturday this year, Canberrans can make a day of it on the lawns of Parliament House, rather than doing a quick dash from work to get a good spot!
With gates opening at 3pm, and entertainment starting at 5pm, you’ve got the afternoon to settle in and have some fun with your family and friends. There is also just one stage this year, so once you’ve found your spot, you’re set for the night.
First up at 5pm is a special one-hour tribute to our outgoing Australians of the Year, with special guest Lior, who will play a combination of his own songs and Australian classics, chosen by the previous Australians of the Year. Megan Washington will also feature in this first hour. This will be followed by the 2014 Australian of the Year Awards.
Once the Awards ceremony is complete, the concert will commence with Matt Corby, DJ Havana Brown and Megan Washington, returning to the stage for the second time. Each artist will perform a full set of their own music, so if you’re a fan of any of these truly talented musicians, you’re in for quite a night.
Now in its 11th year, Australia Celebrates Live is a free concert held on the lawns of Parliament House, every Australia Day Eve. Check out the Event advice page for more important information about the day.
