Julian Stock AM
Julian Stock spent most of his adult life working in accounting and finance positions in different parts of the world either for a large US accounting firm or a multi-national oil company. Apart for Australia and New Zealand (the country of his birth), he has lived and worked in the USA, Colombia, Canada, UK, Singapore and various European countries.
After retiring from full time work in 1992, he has been involved in a number of organisations and activities. These include: financial consulting work for the Northern Territory government and the University of Ballarat; chairman of commissioners of the Banyule City Council; member of the Library Board of Victoria for nine years and deputy president for four; chairman of the Victorian branch of the Australian Shareholders’ Association; member of an expert panel advising the Victorian government on the feasibility of proposed municipal boundary changes; member of the Urgent Issues Group (which provides legally binding interpretations of accounting standards).
In January 2007 he was made a Member of the Order of Australia for services to the community. He is currently honorary treasurer of the Victoria Branch of the Order of Australia Association.
