Dr David Marsh OAM
Dr Marsh was born in 1951 and studied Medicine at Monash University. He has worked in Richmond as a GP for over 30 years, as well as lecturing at Monash University, and being the Senior Medical Officer for the Richmond Football Club from 1981 until 1983.
David has been always had interests outside medicine, however, and was a board member for Variety – The Children’s Charity, from 1988 until 1994. He then took on the role of Medical Advisor to them for eleven years. He mentors the Mentors of the Richmond Football Club, and is the Founding Chairman of the Marsh Foundation. The foundation recycles medical goods to Indonesia, and works to improve the lives of impoverished children.
He actively participates at the Athanaeum Club, and was Victorian of the year in 2003. He had a very good 2003, as it was also the year that he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for services and provision of immediate medical assistance to victims of the October 2002 Bali bombings.
