Ian has an extensive background in sports marketing and communications having been involved in the sporting industry for over 20 years.

A Marketing Manager for a number of sporting publications in the 1980s, Ian was the Marketing Manager for the North Melbourne Giants Basketball Club in the National Basketball League (NBL) in 1991 before switching codes to football.
After a brief stint at Fitzroy he joined the Carlton Football Club (the Blues) where he has been for more than 18 years and is part of the senior management team. He commenced at Carlton in 1992 in the Marketing Department as the Marketing Services Manager and in 1998 he became one of the first Communication/Media Managers for a Victorian based AFL Club.
Ian’s role, as part of the senior management team, includes the management of the media and the integrated communications program of the club, including branding and promotion of the Carlton Football Club.
Ian grew up in Kaniva, in the Wimmera region of Victoria, completing his schooling in the small town before moving to Melbourne where he has lived for 30 years.
