Ken Morgan OAM

Three time Victorian Finalist for Australian of the Year, Humanitarian of the Year - 2000 (Humanitarian Foundation), 2001 Centenary Medal. Founder of Kids Under Cover Australia (KUCA).

Retired motor industry dealer principal Ken Morgan has gone from giving cars away on Saturday night TV to giving hope to hundreds of children in need. Ken is founding patron of Kids Under Cover Australia, a not-for-profit organisation he founded in 1989. The organisation builds houses and bungalows to accommodate children, many of whom are wards of the state, under the supervised care of various welfare agencies. These children are victims, mostly of severe physical or sexual abuse, in urgent need of a roof over their heads. Under Ken’s leadership, Kids Under Cover Australia has built over 400 one and two-bedroom bungalows, 20 houses and 3 complexes in all corners of Victoria, giving a home to over 3,000 children in need. A new bungalow is built every 5 days.  KUCA has moved into Queensland and the ACT. KUCA also gives education scholarship opportunities to their kids.

Ken’s selfless voluntary work for the community and his absolute dedication to helping homeless and at risk young people inspires all who come into contact with him.  Awarded the Order Of Australia Medal in 2011.
