Jacinta Tynan

Jacinta Tynan is a News Presenter with Sky News Australia, an author, columnist and proud mum of two. Her first book, Good Man Hunting (Random House), a memoir about looking for love, earned her the accolade ‘Australia’s answer to Carrie Bradshaw’. Her second book, ‘Some Girls Do: My Life as a Teenager‘ (Allen and Unwin) is an anthology of female authors writing the true story of their adolescence. Royalties are donated to SISTER2Sister - a mentor program for disadvantaged teenage girls – for whom Jacinta is Patron.
Jacinta is regarded as a commentator for her generation. She writes regularly for Sunday Life (Sun Herald/Sunday Age), and appears on Channel Seven’s Sunrise and Weekend Sunrise. She has also been a guest on Insight (SBS) and Today Tonight’s special on Australia’s Most Influential Women. She was also brave enough to appear on The Chaser and The Hampster Wheel.
Jacinta regards her greatest achievement and highest joy as being a mother to two beautiful boys (Jasper 3 years and Otis 20 months). Her writing on motherhood has resulted in some healthy debate including a story reminding us to celebrate the joy and privilege of motherhood, which every mother in Australia seemed to have an opinion on.
This is Jacinta’s fifth year as an Australia Day Ambassador.
