Allanah Zitserman

Allanah started working in the film industry at the ripe age of 22. Her first feature film, Russian Doll, which she co-wrote and produced was a critical and box office success that garnered her an AFI Best Screenplay Award.
She founded and is the Festival Director of Dungog Film Festival. She also founded and heads up Australian Film Syndicate, a distribution company that releases Australian films. In September 2011, she announced the creation of the Cockatoo Island Film Festival, to be held on Cockatoo Island in October 2012.
Allanah has an acute understanding of connecting domestic content to local audiences and has overseen some of Australia’s most dynamic marketing campaigns for Australian films and festivals.
Her experience working with both corporate and government organisations has given her significant breadth and depth of knowledge. This diversity keeps her on the pulse of new technologies and developments in distribution and the industry as a whole.
Allanah has a passion for building a healthier domestic screen industry.
