Allanah Zitserman is a creative producer, film distributor, film festival director, and screenwriter.
Allanah started working in the film industry at 22. Her first feature film, Russian Doll, starring Hugo Weaving was a critical and box office success that garnered her an Australian Film Institute (AFI) Best Original Screenplay Award.
She has produced films in both NSW and Victoria, including her second feature, Horseplay starring Abbie Cornish.
In 2007 she created the Dungog Film Festival (DFF), the world’s biggest festival of Australian films. She also founded and heads Cockatoo Film – a distribution company responsible for delivering some of Australia’s most dynamic movie marketing campaigns.
Allanah is passionate about connecting domestic content with local audiences and is a powerful advocate of regional NSW and the Australian Film Industry.
Recently Allanah became a mother of two girls—Mila and Lula—and is proud to say they are her greatest achievement.
